Who we are

Guest Kernel is operated by Kernel LLC. Contact: support@kernelusa.com.

Orders and shipping

You can pay online by card (processed by Stripe; we never see your card number) or ask for an invoice. Signs ship within 2 weeks of payment. If we cannot ship by that date, we will tell you by email before it passes, give you a new date, and offer you the choice to cancel for a full refund. You can cancel for a full refund any time before your order ships.

Subscription

The plan is billed monthly per property, starting after a free period of 2 weeks from your order. It can be cancelled at any time and stays active until the end of the paid month.

Signs require an active plan

Signs and the TV app only show your welcome screen while your plan is active and covers the property they're assigned to. The plan is per property; any number of signs and TVs may be used within a covered property. If a payment fails, screens keep working for 7 days while you update your card. When the plan ends, screens show "Sign not active" until it is reactivated.

To keep one plan from being shared between homes, signs report the network they're connected to (public IP address, Wi-Fi name and router hardware addresses, and nearby Wi-Fi network addresses). A sign that stays at a different location from its property for 3 days is flagged and we notify you; if it is still there 7 days later, it pauses until it's moved back or that location is added to your plan.

Each sign has a serial number registered to your order. Signs are only supported with our firmware.

Hardware

Signs include a 12-month limited warranty against defects. Signs ship with the microphone removed and contain no camera. Keep the sign indoors, away from water and heat, and charge it with a standard USB-C charger.

Your content

You are responsible for the information you put on your screens (such as Wi-Fi passwords and guest first names) and for following your listing platform's rules and local laws.

Service availability

We work to keep the service running, but screens may sometimes show outdated information (for example if the property's Wi-Fi is down or a calendar link stops working). The service is provided "as is" and our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months.
